Terms of Service

Last updated July 2026. By using Chirp, you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and readable.

Using Chirp

Chirp grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app to learn. Please don't misuse it — no scraping, no reverse-engineering the course, no automated abuse of leagues, and nothing illegal.

Your account & progress

Your progress is tied to your Chirp identity. Keep it yours; don't sell or share access. We may reset leaderboards weekly as part of normal operation.

Subscriptions

Chirp Super is an optional paid plan. In this reference build, checkout runs in demo mode through the platform gateway and no card is charged; a real order object is recorded. In a live deployment, trials convert to paid plans unless cancelled, and you can cancel any time from Settings.

Fair play in leagues

Leagues are meant to be fun. Because Chirp is new, cohorts include clearly-labeled pace-setters rather than fake humans. Attempting to game rankings through automation may result in removal from leagues.

Content

Course content, the Chirp name, and Pip belong to Chirp. Share your rank cards freely — that's what they're for.

Disclaimer & liability

Chirp is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't guarantee fluency, uptime, or that Pip's reminders will make you feel great about missing a day. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited.

Changes

We may update these terms; we'll update the date and, for big changes, notify you in-app. Continued use means you accept the new terms.

Chirp is a cshell reference venture and is not affiliated with Duolingo.
